Crew Highlights
The beginning and end of each day...
If you come in at the beginning or end of the day, this is what you might see.
Opportunities to work/play together deepen friendships and contribute to our feeling of crew.
Learning through exploration builds understanding of how things work and cause & effect.
Thank you for the donations to our "take a-part station."
More donations are welcome!
Happy Birthday Max!
Thank you Tia for coming in to read to us and help us celebrate Max's birthday! :)
Ms. Diana visits on Tuesdays
We are so lucky to have our librarian visit our crew on Tuesdays. She comes with wonderful stories, activities, and learning.
(This is not to be confused with when we check-out books, which is on Thursdays.)
Showing Growth
To get ready for student-led conferences, we have been doing a variety of diagnostic assessments, including one-on-one conferences and using online tools. We look forward to sharing growth and next steps with you! I am so proud of our learners!

Wow Ms. Chelsea! I am so impressed with your work in facilitating these plays! Our kindergartners did a fantastic job of expression, passion, and comedic timing. They knew their parts and were easily able to read/follow along with the books. The confidence they displayed was priceless! A huge kudos to Ms. Chelsea- she simply is the best! Also thank you to Ms. Michelle's 6th grade volunteers who supported the performances by holding and turning the pages of the book. What a great way to end the week!
Expedition: May the Force Move You
This week, we took some more time to explore wheels & axles. At the beginning of the week, our challenge was to find out which wheels roll the best. Students created Lego cars and tested 4 different types of wheels. We graphed the data to show our results.
For our next challenge, students helped me create a rubric for a car that could carry a load without breaking over a distance of two ruler lengths. Then a bonus challenge was to have their car roll safely down an incline plane.
Students did a great job of problem-solving and using creativity with their car creations.
With a group, each student shared their car creation, and we evaluated their car using the rubric. It was impressive to hear students using the language of being apprentice, developing, or independent. They reflected on what went well or what they would change for next time. Be sure to ask your child about it! :)
